Nancy Pelosi says Dem leaders are sexist

Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., is accusing fellow Democratic Party leaders of being “sexist” for demanding Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calf., immediately resign.

The 89-year-old Feinstein has suffered a noticable decline in her mental accumen over the years, and has recently been absent from the U.S. Senate for months after being hospitalized.

Democratic leaders have called on Feinstein to resign her seat since she’s no longer able to perform her duties as a U.S. senator.

Pelosi said such talk is sexist, because no one questions male senators health issues.

Feinstein “deserves the respect to get well and to be back on duty,” Pelosi told a local CBS news station.

I don’t know what political agendas are at work that are going after Sen. Feinstein in that way,” she said. “I’ve never seen them go after a man who was sick in the Senate in that way.”

That’s not true, of course — The Horn News has covered Sen. John Fetterman, D-Penn., and his serious brain damage concerns extensively over the past year.

Numerous Democratic leaders such as Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif., have recently called for Feinstein to resign because she is “unable to fulfill her duties.”

“It’s sad to see her in this state where she is missing votes,” Khanna said.

Rep. @RoKhanna: "My intent was not to make a splash. It was simply to say publicly what so many know privately and that is while Senator Feinstein has had an extraordinary, distinguished career, she's simply unable now to fulfill her duties." https://t.co/XCxWuUoQ6E pic.twitter.com/CAz6RoOMOA
