House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has a lot of reasons to be worried — 20, in fact.
That’s the number of Democratic candidates running for Congress across the United States that have publicly promised they will fight against Pelosi if they’re elected.
Pelosi struggled to maintain her grip on power in the Democratic party after losing the 2016 election, and managed to hang on by a thread.
If Pelosi and the Democrats lose the 2018 midterms, it’s almost certain she will lose her position.
But Pelosi has grown so unpopular, even a miraculous sweep for her party in November spells trouble for Pelosi.
“In that scenario, Pelosi would face a freshman class with a significant bloc of Democrats who are on record promising to oppose her or calling for new leadership,” Politico reported. “Of the more than a dozen Democratic candidates who have survived their primaries and rejected Pelosi, most are in districts that top the list of targeted 2018 seats.”
Just how unpopular Pelosi has become is almost hard to measure.
According to a recent poll as reported by The Hill, Pelosi is less popular than North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un.
No matter what happens in November, American voters have sent a loud message through the halls of Washington, D.C.
Even Democrats are sick and tired of Nancy Pelosi.
And they want her out.
