Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had a very, very bad weekend after she posted a video of herself tearing a plastic crown in half to show solidarity with “No Kings” protesters.
The 85-year-old former Speaker posted a video of herself tearing up a cheap plastic crown, declaring “No Crown, No Kings!” with a giggle. The video featured a noticeable jump cut in the middle of her attempting to rip the prop crown.
The edit shows she has trouble ripping the cheap toy. The awkward editing immediately drew attention from social media users.

The California Democrat has served in Congress since June 1987, spanning nearly 38 years in office. She held the Speaker’s gavel twice, and has seen her personal wealth explode to hundreds of millions of dollars since taking office.
The video came as Pelosi attended a get-out-the-vote event in support of California’s Proposition 50 on Saturday. In her X post, she said, “We’re gonna tear up the crown.” The video quickly went viral, reaching 1.4 million views.
One user wrote that there was “nothing more hilarious” watching an 85-year-old attempt to rip up the toy crown was, while another called it evidence that “these people are clowns.”
