It’s no big mystery that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is up there in age — 81-years-old, to be exact.

In a newly released Wednesday video, Pelosi made an interesting remark related to her retirement… and those waiting in the wings are sure to be furious.
She was being interviewed by MSNBC’s liberal star Mika Brzezinski, who asked her what the word “retirement” meant to her.
Pelsoi hesitated for a moment to think.
“What’s that?” Pelosi joked.

Although she plays the question off, that’s likely not how she actually feels. Recent reports have surfaced that Pelosi had considered retirement in 2016, but dashed those plans when former President Donald Trump was elected to office.

She reportedly experienced “physical” shock when Trump was elected.
So she certainly knows what retirement is — and it seems as though she was ready for it.
According to Susan Page, who wrote a biography on the speaker, Pelosi was ready to head home and spend time with her nine grandchildren.
“After three decades as a congresswoman from California, nearly half of that time as the leader of the House Democrats, Pelosi said she was getting ready to take a breath, dote on her nine grandchildren, perhaps write her memoirs,” Page reportedly wrote in the recently released book.
She has also said in the past that she would voluntarily step down from her speaker role in 2022…

And even now, insiders are still downplaying questions as to whether or not Pelosi would quit before the end of her congressional term — after a failed 2020 midterm which saw Republicans make great strides to recapture the House.
And rumors are that Democratic leaders are trying to push Pelosi out of the door, and already have anointed Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y. to be the next House Speaker.
But confidantes say that “she doesn’t want to look like a loser,” so the odds of her finishing her term remain high.
For now, it seems Pelosi will stay put.
