The mask mandate has been recently reinstated in the House of Representatives.
And House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has ordered Capitol Police to arrest anyone seen inside without their mask.

But one Republican fired back.
Her message to Nancy Pelosi was simple.
“Come and get me.”
Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., an ally of former President Donald Trump, recorded herself roaming the halls of Congress without a mask in what was a directly defiant act aimed at Pelosi.
The video was uploaded to Twitter and quickly made the media rounds.

“In the tunnels this morning, socially distant from anybody else,” she said. “I had COVID. I’ve had two vacations. I’m washing my hands. I’m even wearing my mask inside the chamber, but I’m not gonna wear it anywhere else.”
This is only the latest in the war of words between bitter political enemies.

Some of the most prominent voices in the GOP have spoken out against Pelosi, and call her actions a blatant power grab.
From Florida Rep. Kat Cammack:
In today’s edition of Pelosi’s abuse of power, Capitol Police have been directed to arrest staff and visitors to comply with her mask mandate for vaccinated individuals.
For Members, they advise not arresting but “reporting Members to SAA for their failure to comply.”

Like Mace, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy along with other Republicans are refusing to mask up, calling the mandate not “based on science.”
“Make no mistake — the threat of bringing masks back is not a decision based on science, but a decision conjured up by liberal government officials who want to continue to live in a perpetual pandemic state,” he said.

Pelosi attacked the House Minority leader and called McCarthy’s comments moronic.
And it’s unlikely this is the last in the ongoing war of words between parties.
According to reports, congress members are likely to receive $500 fines for breaking protocol.
The mandate, however, will not be imposed in the Senate.
