President Donald Trump called Monday “a dark day for Israel!” in a tweet — and things are getting far worse for Democratic politicians by the day.
The presidents comments come after Rep. Ilhan Omar’s, D-M.N. most recent anti-Semitic remarks. The freshman Democrat has been on a crusade to criticize Israel at every turn since taking her post in the House — including spreading nasty anti-Jewish conspiracy theories.
In her latest, she implied Jewish-Americans are forcing elected officials to support to Israel in order to serve in Congress.
“I should not be expected to have allegiance/pledge support to a foreign country in order to serve my country in Congress or serve on committee,” Omar said in a tweet.
And what does House Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., do?
She praised Omar and appeared side-by-side with her on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine.
A picture is worth 1,000 words but @aoc, @IlhanMN, @JahanaHayesCT and Nancy on the cover of @RollingStone is worth millions of dreams to women and girls across America.

By doing so, critics say Pelosi has empowered anti-Semetism and allowed it to spill into all of Americans politics. Her actions make it clear that the “backlash” over Omar’s original comments, where she implied that Congress was bought and paid for by Jews, was a hollow gesture by Democratic leadership.
The lack of action from Democrats over Omar’s statements, and her continued presence on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, is proof that Pelosi and company never cared.
Omar continues to spew hateful comments without condemnation.
The controversy started last month after Omar tweeted that Republicans were under control of Jewish bankers — an old anti-Semitic conspiracy theory that traces it’s history back to medieval Europe. It’s “all about the Benjamins, baby” she Tweeted about GOP support for Israel.
Since then, 11 Jewish groups called for Omar to be removed from the Foreign Affairs Committee. But Democrats, who have a long history of embracing anti-Jewish leaders, seem unwilling to do anything about Omar’s actions.
This comes from the same party that ostracized Rep. Steve King and Republicans for his racially insensitive remarks late last year. Republicans, of course, responded by stripping King of his seats.
Merely apologizing wasn’t enough for Democrats… until suddenly it’s one of their own that’s under fire.
Omar is still sitting pretty, grinning ear-to-ear on the cover of Rolling Stone this month with other congresswomen.
Just keep smiling, Nancy says.
