The old cliché holds, “Ignorance is bliss”—but for Vice President Kamala Harris, it’s an election strategy.
A new poll shows the extent to which the 2024 Democratic presidential candidate has hidden her position on the issues from Republicans, Democrats, and independents alike.
More than seven out of 10 Democrats have no idea what Kamala Harris has said about the top issues in November’s election, which is just 70 days from today.
The Media Research Center wanted to know what pro-Harris voters knew about the vice president’s policy positions. Although MRC is conservative, they surveyed 1,200 voters who were “registered Democrats and Independents who voted for Joe Biden in 2020.”
The depths of ignorance they found will shock you.
In all, 74 percent said they had no idea Kamala Harris had said she would like to “decriminalize” illegal border crossings.
72 percent didn’t know Kamala Harris, America’s border czar, never visited a border “conflict zone.”
75 percent did not know she ranked as “the most liberal U.S. senator in 2019.”
And a whopping 78 percent of Democratic or Biden-voting independents had no idea Kamala Harris had raised money to pay the bail of violent rioters during the 2020 BLM riots.
Voters’ complete ignorance of Kamala Harris’ views “suggests that the knowledge gaps found by our poll reveal a failure of (media) outlets to report on radical positions once (and perhaps currently) supported by the now-Democratic nominee for President,” said MRC.
There’s no question Kamala Harris has ducked the media since being handed the Democratic Party presidential nomination—and that the media have done little to press the issue.
“I want us to get an interview scheduled before the end of the month,” Harris told the media…on August 8., 19 days ago.
The New York Times reported, “Kamala Harris Isn’t Giving Interviews. Any Questions?”
Since then, she’s kept quiet, with the media’s compliance.
“The only way Kamala can win is if you don’t know anything about her,” said Jesse Watters.
Even during her big moment last week, when the Democratic National Convention nominated her as the party’s presidential candidate, Kamala ducked the press. Instead, even left-wing websites have pointed out that Kamala has empowered “an army of influencers” to speak on her behalf.
“The campaign said it tapped more than 300 people to perform 1,500 interviews on behalf of the ticket during the Democratic National Convention last week in Chicago,” reported The Daily Beast, a liberal, Harris-friendly outlet.
Even some of those surrogates are getting tired of Harris’ decision to duck the media. “Look, I think that the vice president owes responses to the American people,” said Harris’ deputy campaign manager, Quentin Fulks.
But Harris has a powerful ally in her efforts to avoid media scrutiny: the media.
At the DNC, Kamala Harris walked past a line of reporters, including Kelly O’Donnell of NBC News. What did O’Donnell ask the press-averse Harris?
The tough anchor also asked, “Madam Vice President, how do you feel tonight?”
“Good!” said Harris. “Now on to tomorrow!”
Harris undoubtedly also felt relieved she didn’t have to answer any real questions.
“Congratulations to you!” O’Donnell, the objective anchor, cheered. O’Donnell then passed on the positive tidings to the vice presidential candidate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz. “Governor Walz, Mrs. Walz, congratulations!”
NBC’s @KellyO had the chance to ask Kamala, who has done no interviews or press conferences, a question and what she asked was “How do you feel tonight?” And “Congratulations.” The fix is in. pic.twitter.com/JXRhNs89jH

It would be one thing if that were a one-off. But just last week another reporter did the same thing as Harris prepared to fly off to another media-free event.
“What’s next?” a reporter asked her.
Harris pointed to the stairway leading up to Air Force Two and said, “Walk up those stairs.”
“Then what?” asked the reporter.
“Win. We’re gonna win,” responded Harris.

KAMALA: "Walk up those stairs."

Harris, whom opponents call the ultimate DEI hire, has gotten so used to living free of criticism that she jokingly rubs her refusal to talk to reporters in reporters’ faces.
When Fox News reporter Peter Doocy called out to her as she walked past at the Democratic National Convention, Harris responded, “Hi Peter. How are you?’”
“Congratulations! Are you ready for your Fox interview?” he asked.
“I’m working toward it!” Harris said sarcastically before breaking out into her famous cackle.
It’s obvious why Harris wants to stay away from reporters, as she sat down a moment with a reporter.
The reporter noted that Axios reported President Trump would downgrade diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs that teach anti-white racism.
“What would that do to race relations?” the reporter asked.
The reporter served up a softball question that gave Harris the opportunity to bash her political opponent—and gave him the opportunity to report her Hate-Trump rhetoric as an “objective” bystander.
But Kamala Harris couldn’t think of anything besides recycling the words “diversity, equity, and inclusion.”
Watching the video, you can see her brain revving up as she starts out three incomplete answers to the question in a row.
In the end, she said, DEI “means also acknowledging the importance of diversity. It means acknowledging the importance of the fact that everyone should have equal opportunity to compete—and, and equity. And then of course inclusion. That, you know, hey let’s look around the room, and see who’s not here. And, ‘Did we leave the door open?’”
So, the reporter had to walk away with the big scoop that Kamala Harris said DEI means diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Kamala Harris is asked what would happen if Donald Trump becomes president and rolls back all the DEI programs. She waffles. Endlessly. While nervously scratching her face. It's incredible. pic.twitter.com/t72RDffoKT

“Her rambling non-answer word salad is why they’re not letting her do interviews or press conferences,” said one commentator.
“She’s either drunk or an idiot. Or both,” said radio talk show host Drew Hernandez, who called Harris the “Short Bus VP.”
But Harris’ Hollywood supporters want her to keep hiding as long as possible.
“Sometimes it’s just about f***king winning! And it doesn’t matter how we look at this moment. It’s about f***king winning!” said Quentin Tarantino.
They don't want you to know anything about Kamala. She takes no interviews no questions, she can only talk if there's a teleprompter. If you actually knew her you would not vote for her so forth they don't want her to speak pic.twitter.com/DWKjSQM2Ny

“Tarantino just said exactly what the Democratic Party believes but is usually afraid to say: It will do whatever it takes to win: coups, duck debates, hide their policies, no interviews, arrest their rival, gag him, raid his house, lie about him,” said Jesse Watters.
“He said it: It’s about effing winning. It’s not about you at all.”
