Update: Chelsea Handler has since apologized to Juanita Broaddrick in a tweet, saying, “I believe you.”
Comedian Chelsea Handler is one of the most outspoken anti-Trump celebrities, and recently announced she is giving up her Netflix career to pursue political activism.
But after her latest flub, that might not be the best career move.
Handler attempted to call out Republican Roy Moore for the recent sexual assault allegations made against him. But she clearly failed to do her research, and ended up gaining the attention of Juanita Broaddrick who has long claimed that she was raped by former president Bill Clinton in 1978.
Handler tweeted:
Imagine being molested by an older man. Then that man denies ever doing it and then goes on and gets elected to United States senate. What kind of message does that send to young girls everywhere? And men to all the men who abuse women?

Handler spent much of the election cycle campaigning for failed presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, and is undoubtedly well aware of the rape accusations made against her Bill Clinton.
Broaddrick was outspoken about her allegations, and how then first lady Hillary Clinton intimidated her into silence.
Broaddrick had no problem reminding Handler of her traumatic experience with Bill Clinton in a response tweet:
Yeah, @chelseahandler I can imagine. I was raped by the Arkansas AG who then becomes Governor & President and NBC held my interview explaining the rape until after his impeachment hearing. But I'm sure you don't want to go there. https://t.co/s9W8NZsaZ3

Now that the show is on the other foot, and it’s a Republican politician accused of sexual assault, liberal celebrities have no problem coming forward saying he should end his campaign for Senate.
While the actions of both of these men, if proven true, are unacceptable and inhumane, they should be treated with similar reactions regardless of their political party.
Broaddrick and two other of Bill Clinton’s accusers participated in President Donald Trump’s campaign in 2016, discussing their allegations which they still held to be true all those years later.
