While federal workers go unpaid — and millions of Americans are denied services — House Speaker Nancy Pelosi decided to try her hand at stand-up comedy.
To end the federal shutdown, Pelosi mockingly pledged $1 to help President Donald Trump build a wall along America’s southern border.
But when a disabled veteran showed up at Pelosi’s office to collect the dollar, she and her staff acted like total cowards.
Not so funny now, huh?
Brian Kolfage, a triple-amputee who has raised $19 million for a border wall through a GoFundMe campaign, visited Pelosi’s Congressional digs and asked to see her.
After seeming to indicate that Pelosi was in the office, staff quickly backtracked when they learned what Kolfage wanted.
They then dubiously claimed that Pelosi was “not here right now.”
“They acted like it was some big joke,” Kolfage said. “She’s hiding in her closet trying to avoid us.”
Did Pelosi renege on her $1 pledge — and then chicken out of meeting with a war hero?
