And on Monday his show’s interim host finally addressed his whereabouts. Matthews is fighting prostate cancer and is currently recovering from surgery.
“Chris is recovering from prostate cancer surgery last week,” Steve Kornacki told viewers at the end of Monday night’s show. “The procedure went well, but he’s taking a few days to get back into fighting shape.”
The last time he was seen on air was Oct. 4.
There is no official word out on when the “Hardball” host will return.
