The Republican Party says Georgia’s two Senate run-off elections will determine whether the Democratic Party has majority of the Senate — but Joe Biden already has a 50th senator in his corner: Sen. Mitt Romney of Utah.
The thwarted NeverTrumper has sidled up to the Democrats and even voted with them on impeachment — and its got grassroots Republicans spitting mad.

Now, Romney may have a major primary contender that no one could have guessed: actor and celebrity Scott Baio.
The former “Charles in Charge” heartthrob tweeted to Romney that Utah has “beautiful golf courses,” and the state may have another attraction calling his name.
“Maybe I’ll move there, play a few rounds and unseat you,” Baio threatened.
Unlike Romney, who called himself “severely conservative,” Baio has been a lifelong conservative Republican. Even in the liberal bastion of Hollywood, where his political views stuck out like a red thumb.
At the height of his fame, Baio belonged to Young Americans for Freedom, an activist organization for young Republicans.
He attended Ronald Reagan’s state funeral.
“President Reagan made me feel proud to be an American,” he said.

On the other hand, Romney’s father George was a liberal Republican who opposed Ronald Reagan.
Of course Baio endorsed Donald Trump, even refusing to take part in a Happy Days “reunion” of his fellow stars who supported Joe Biden.
“To take a show like Happy Days that represented traditional American values, good morals, a slice of Americana and to use that show and those ideals to promote two people in Joe Biden and Kamala Harris that condone, encourage and foment rioting and looting is a little bizarre to me,” Baio, who played Chachi, said.
“I’m not on board, obviously, because I don’t believe in socialism and Marxists,” he said.
Now he’d like to take down Biden’s top Republican enabler, Mitt Romney.
The actor added a personal note in his challenge: “My wife is still waiting for her $2,600 refund. Remember your wife canceled that Beverly Hills political luncheon fundraiser? But your campaign kept the money.”

Hey @MittRomney, beautiful golf courses in Utah……maybe I'll move there, play a few rounds and unseat you. P.S. My wife is still waiting for her $2600 refund. Remember your wife canceled that Beverly Hills political luncheon fundraiser? But your campaign kept the money. https://t.co/ZMBZVZw3zZ

Romney reportedly took millions of dollars from Donald Trump during his failed 2012 presidential race.
“Trump has pulled out all the stops when it comes to donating to Romney,” reported Business Insider then. “Even more, Trump has raised from his own friends and family,” who maxed out their contributions to pro-Romney SuperPACs.
But Romney — a two-time presidential loser — has had it out for Donald Trump and his supporters ever since the president did what Romney could never do: win.

So, he’s decided to take his revenge a little at a time. Romney called Trump “a phony and a fraud” in 2016. The GOP’s party establishment considered nominating Romney again in 2016 during a rigged convention.
Despite the betrayal, Trump interviewed Romney for the Secretary of State position and endorsed him when he ran for Senate from Utah in 2018. But Romney repaid him by accusing Trump and his supporters of trading in “the politics of anger and fear.” The Beltway journal Politico urged Biden to choose Mitt Romney as his running mate, and Romney was one of the first Republicans to congratulate Joe Biden after the media declared his victory.
Ann and I extend our congratulations to President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris. We know both of them as people of good will and admirable character. We pray that God may bless them in the days and years ahead.

And Romney again slammed Trump’s supporters, saying they “failed to make even a plausible case of widespread fraud or conspiracy.” He said, “It is difficult to imagine a worse, more undemocratic action by a sitting American president” than challenging alleged Democratic voter fraud and election rigging.
That couldn’t be more different than Baio, who said he’s been watching the state hearings on election fraud. “It’s pretty damning stuff,” he said.

Romney had more in common with liberal elite starlets in Hollywood, whose attitude Baio described to Newsmax as, “Nothing to see here.”
“They just close their ears, shut their eyes, and move right along. They don’t want to hear anything,” he said.
Baio said the country needs “some brave judges who can remedy this,” because “if this doesn’t get fixed, then we’ve got no country.”
Utah is a solidly conservative state, where Baio would have strong support. “At the very minimum, Baio should be expecting an endorsement from President Trump should he choose to run,” wrote Matt Palumbo on Dan Bongino’s website.
Maybe Utah needs to put “Charles” in charge?
