Mitt Romney’s makes no secret about his hatred of President Donald Trump — but he just crossed the aisle and joined one of the strangest partnerships in political history.
Insiders report that Mitt Romney had a secret meeting with a top Democratic leader to discuss how they could destroy Donald Trump — with Mitt providing resources from inside the GOP.
The Utah senator had a private head-to-head meeting with former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid… and the subject was how to dump Trump.

The liberal website The Daily Beast let the cat out of the bag recently.
Reid complained that he had been able to bully other Republicans—like Romney—but Trump was different.
“I’ve never known a human being in a position of prominence that you can do nothing to damage his ego in any way,” he said. “It is absolutely unbelievable.”
It looks like Reid finally met a Republican president who doesn’t spend all his time trying to make the ultra-liberal Democrats like him…and Reid hates it!
So, he thought he’d get further if he had a Republican willing to throw rocks at his own president.
In walked Mitt, who just got elected to the Senate from Utah last year.
Reid a sly political operator, started courting Romney way before he even got into office.

Reid and Romney “met privately at a conference in Utah back in February 2018,” reporter Sam Stein wrote.
The former Utah senator said they “both acknowledged that we had gone a little too far” in attacking each other during the 2012 presidential election.
Reid accused Romney of not paying his taxes for years—a total lie, but one that dogged Mitt through the entire presidential contest.
But the Nevada Democrat, who Rush Limbaugh calls “Dingy Harry,” sings Romney’s praises now.
“I think he’s one of the best things come out of Utah in a long time,” he said. “I think that he’s a good person.”
“He’s one of the few people speaks out—not all the time—but against Trump,” Reid said with a smile on his face.

…And he’s got a reason to smile: Mitt Romney hates Donald Trump almost as much as any Democrat!
Romney has had it in for Trump because he hates that Trump succeeded where he failed.
He was pretty tight with Trump in 2012 when Romney wanted (and got) his endorsement for president.
Then he lost, so he tried to sink Trump before the 2016 election, calling the future president a “fraud.”
But when Trump won anyway, Romney sucked up to him in a private dinner, begging the president to appoint him secretary of state.
Instead, Trump ambushed him—and had a photographer record Romney groveling at Trump’s feet on video!

That really steamed him, so Romney decided to run for Senate to rake Trump over the coals from the inside…but first, he had to get elected—so he asked Trump for his endorsement!
Trump graciously gave it and, as soon as Romney won, he wrote an article in the Washington Post saying Trump was unworthy to be president. That’s some thanks!
Now Romney’s back in office… and this time he’s finally found an enemy he wants to attack… unfortunately, it’s on our side.
The first-term Utah senator has been all over Trump from that day forward.
When the Republicans were trying to defend Trump against a two-year-long witch hunt by Robert Mueller, which in the end found no criminal wrongdoing, Romney jumped right into the fight—and stabbed Trump in the back.
Before the Mueller report was released, Romney read a redacted copy and joined in with the Democrats in making it sound like Trump was at fault.

When Trump complained about John McCain passing on the phony “dossier” to the Obama administration—and for voting against his bill to repeal Obamacare—Romney went ballistic.
Romney said it was terrible Trump would attack a man like McCain, whose entire career was “heroic, courageous, patriotic, honorable, self-effacing, self-sacrificing, empathetic, and driven by duty to family, country, and God.”
When Trump attacked Romney’s 2012 running mate Paul Ryan, Romney called Ryan a “conservative champion.”
Ryan had shown “selfless leadership” that was “critical” to President Trump’s economic success, Romney tweeted. “A man like Paul Ryan does not often come along.”
Mitt Romney has made attack, after attack, after attack against his own president, even when Trump was the focus of a criminal conspiracy to overturn the 2016 election.

And how, we know who’s pulling the strings.
Politics makes for strange bedfellows, but Trump Derangement Syndrome has reinvented the Odd Couple.
