Former First Lady Michelle Obama caused a huge scandal over the weekend when she told a cheering crowd that American voters are too immature and sexist to vote for her for president in 2028.
If you thought Hillary Clinton’s “basket of deplorables” was nasty, wait until you get a load of this.
Obama claimed the United States electorate is not ready to elect a woman president and voters need to “grow up” before that can happen, and blamed former Vice President Kamala Harris’s landslide loss to President Donald Trump on sexism.
“As we saw in this past election, sadly, we ain’t ready,” Obama said. “That’s why I’m like, don’t even look at me about running [for president], because you all are lying. You’re not ready for a woman. You are not.”
“You know, we’ve got a lot of growing up to do, and there’s still, sadly, a lot of men who do not feel like they can be led by a woman, and we saw it,” she said.
Obama also said she was a victim of racism and sexism when her husband was elected President of the United States in 2008.
“Let me be clear, these were our people who were going after me. This started when we were running against our party. The beginning of turning me into an angry shrew who diminished her husband, who didn’t love her country, who was unpatriotic…These people are lying. They’re making stuff up because they’re trying to win,” Obama said.
“I didn’t even feel I had the support of the campaign [because] they were white folks, too,” Obama said.
“So, I knew this immediately. And I knew this coming in as First Lady, that I was in charge of my story, my narrative. I had to be smarter than them. I had to outsmart everyone and that came to everything I did, including what I wore,” she said.

Over the years, Obama has repeatedly rejected speculation she was planning her own presidential run. During a 2018 “Today” show segment, Savannah Guthrie asked if she would consider a career in politics. “Absolutely not. I’ve never wanted to be a politician. Nothing has changed in me. I want to serve. … There are so many ways to make an impact. Politics is not my thing. It’s as simple as that,” she answered.
While in the White House, Michelle Obama was frequently celebrated in legacy media and appeared on the cover of Vogue magazine three times. Current First Lady Melania Trump, a former supermodel, has been snubbed by the same establishment media and leftist magazines.
