Former President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama broke their silence on Valentine’s Day after months of divorce rumors have swirled around the couple.
The Obamas post posted matching selfies and heartfelt messages on social media Friday to dismiss the rumors of their impending split.
“Thirty-two years together and you still take my breath away,” wrote the former president, 63, on X. “Happy Valentine’s Day, @MichelleObama!”
The former first lady responded with her own tribute: “If there’s one person I can always count on, it’s you, @BarackObama. You’re my rock. Always have been. Always will be. Happy Valentine’s Day, honey!”
The Valentine’s exchange follows Barack Obama’s January 17 birthday message to his wife. “Happy birthday to the love of my life, @MichelleObama. You fill every room with warmth, wisdom, humor, and grace – and you look good doing it. I’m so lucky to be able to take on life’s adventures with you. Love you!” Michelle Obama responded with “Love you, honey!”
The Obamas, who married in Chicago in October 1992, are parents to Malia, 26, and Sasha, 23. During their 31st anniversary celebration last year, Barack Obama wrote that he “couldn’t have asked for a better partner and friend to go through life with.”
For years, there have been whispers about a potential divorce — rumors that intensified after Michelle Obama’s skipped being with her husband at former President Jimmy Carter’s funeral and then President Donald Trump’s inauguration last month.
The former president attended both events solo and was later spotted dining alone at an Italian restaurant in Washington, D.C.
According to the rumors, Barack had started a relationship with actress Jennifer Aniston — who directly addressed rumors about her alleged involvement with the former president during an October 2024 appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” stating, “This is absolutely untrue.”
