Revenge is a dish best served cold — especially if it’s revenge against an administration that imported a foreign population accused of eating your pets.
After four years of humiliation, exploitation, and neglect from Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, the 2024 election results show that the victims — and cat lovers — finally struck back.
For the first time in his political career, President-elect Donald Trump carried the votes of Springfield, Ohio.
The city came into the national limelight as Republicans highlighted the suffering of American citizens at the hands of Haitians placed into the city by Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris…and when the Harris-Walz campaign tried to deny their suffering.
The Horn dug deep into the facts on the ground in Springfield, Ohio, when the controversy first broke out this summer. We found a mixture of grotesque practices, heartrending loss, and complete and the complete victimization and abandonment of Americans by “their” own government.
Springfield was a normal, working-class town for decades, until Democrats passed free trade agreements that forced American laborers to compete with low-wage illegal immigrants and Chinese imports (from slave labor). Springfield’s median income fell 27 percent during the 15 years from 1999 to 2014.
Then the city leaders got the “woke” idea to promote a “Welcome Springfield” program to make the city a preferred destination for immigrants, without looking too hard at whether they came to the country legally or illegally.
But even the city’s elected officials claimed to be surprised that the Biden-Harris administration dumped tens of thousands of non-English-speaking Haitians into the rusted-out town in middle America and gave the foreigners better living conditions than U.S. citizens.
The city of 58,106 saw its population explode during the Biden-Harris administration, which quickly crammed 20,000 Haitian migrants into the city.
The illegal population put “a significant strain on our resources and ability to provide ample housing for all of our residents,” Springfield City Manager Bryan Heck in a letter to members of the U.S. Senate on July 8.
He confirmed that the waves of immigrants drove up rent prices with taxpayer-funded Section 8 vouchers.
Aside from rent, “there has been a massive rise in communicable diseases, rent prices, car insurance rates, and crime,” said Senator, now Vice President-Elect J.D. Vance.
But the most visible charge was that the city’s new Haitian population had killed and eaten pets, including cats.
One city resident confirmed to the city council that she had personally witnessed Haitians stop on the roadside to “clean and gut the roadkill lying there in front of anyone passing by. Stealing animals from farmers and leaving their severed heads at the site of an old school where children play.”

The issue broke into the 2024 presidential election, when President Donald Trump spoke about the national “shame” during his debate with Harris.
“In Springfield, they’re eating the dogs—the people that came in. They’re eating the cats. They’re eating the pets of the people who live there,” said President Trump.
Kamala Harris broke out laughing, heaping scorn on the 45th president of the United States.
Well, it turned out that the voters of Springfield had the last laugh.

With 100% of precincts counted, the former president tops Harris 64.06% to 34.74%, according to unofficial results — 39,636 to 21,494. https://www.wdtn.com/news/your-local-election-hq/how-ohio-voted-for-president-broken-down-by-county/
Springfield voters’ clear and undeniable motivation spurred a whopping 71% of voters to turn out to vote.
Although President Trump won Clark County by 60.8% in 2020, he didn’t win every part of the county.
“Hillary Clinton carried Springfield by roughly 2,800 votes in 2016,” reported the Washington Free Beacon, which reviewed the city’s election results over multiple years. “Four years later, Joe Biden won the city by a slightly lower margin, roughly 1,800 votes.”
Could the shift to Trump be chalked up to his running mate, Ohio’s senator and native son J.D. Vance?
In a word, no.
“Vice President-elect J.D. Vance didn’t fare much better during his 2022 Senate campaign, losing Springfield by 1,300 votes to Democrat Tim Ryan,” the paper reported.
But the city, located about 50 miles west of the state capital of Columbus, gave its support to the Trump-Vance ticket in 2024. With more than 20,000 ballots cast in Springfield, Trump edged out Kamala Harris by 150 votes.
J.D. Vance promised he and Donald Trump’s America First policies would bring relief and help rebuild Springfield and the many other cities suffering under the lame duck administration.

Wow @JDVance is really banging them out this morning.

The Democrats bet on Kamala Harris, and Kamala Harris bet on Americans voting the way their parents and grandparents had always voted.
Donald Trump bet on Americans loving their families and their prosperity more than they hated him—and the gamble paid off.
