Radio star Megyn Kelly is set to make her acting debut later this year, according to a press release by The Daily Wire. She’s been voicing a character in an animated series created by conservative comic Adam Carolla.
On Friday, Kelly hosted Carolla on her radio show to preview the series. She described her role as the wife of Carolla’s character… and she asked Carolla about the potential for “bedroom scenes.”
Carolla, the former host of the call-in program Loveline, joked about the subject.
“Maybe I shouldn’t be saying this,” Carolla said. “But I figured, if I can get you to be my animated wife, then that’s one step closer to reality.”
Kelly played into the bit.
“Are we going to have any bedroom scenes, our characters?” Kelly asked. “Should I be worried?”
“I’m working on some right now,” Carolla answered. “I’ve been working the beats out in my head, but I’m going to put them down on paper real soon. And the thing about animation is they can’t just draw it out of whole cloth. They have to physically witness you. So, just be prepared. We’ll be wearing bodysuits. It’s going to be tasteful. It’ll be classy.”
“That’s a tease,” Kelly exclaimed laughing, before reading a fittingly worded ad. “Debt: You can go to bed thinking about it. You can wake up thinking about it, too.”

Kelly is set to play the wife of the title character.
“You’re making a star out of me, Adam Carolla, because we are going to be starring, along with an amazing, amazing cast in this series that’s going to be coming out in The Daily Wire called Mr. Birchum,” Kelly said on the air Friday. “It’s based on this shop teacher that Adam has created in his own mind, and he’s been doing this bit for years, and now his life comes to the screen in Mr. Birchum.”
On air, Carolla described the series’ development.
“This has been about 30 years in the making. I started my radio career by creating this character, Mr. Birchum… an amalgamation of all the shop teachers I had in high school who hated the kids,” Carolla said. “We did the pilot for Fox 11 or 12 years ago, but it was before its time, I’ll say, about 11 or 12 years ago. And Fox decided to focus on Bob’s Burgers, or whatever crap they were trying to put out.”
Kelly relished the opportunity to join the television industry. In 2019, Kelly was played onscreen by actor Charlize Theron in the movie Bombshell, but Kelly has denied any involvement in the film.
“You made me join their union in order to participate in this,” Kelly told Carolla, referring to The Daily Wire‘s union. “So, I’m like a real — I feel like Norma Rae, Adam, thanks to you,” Kelly said, referring to the movie Norma Rae.
Kelly’s character appeared in The Daily Wire‘s trailer for the series.
“Someone’s looking a little chubby-wubby. So I bought him some new food,” Kelly’s character tells her dog. “It’s organic. And vegan!”
