Megyn Kelly delivered a brutal takedown of former White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre this week, calling her a “total moron” and questioning how she could be “dumb” enough to get rejected from “The View” – criticism that’s now being backed up by devastating revelations from Biden administration insiders.
The SiriusXM host didn’t hold back when discussing Jean-Pierre’s reported rejection for a co-hosting spot on ABC’s “The View” after her announcement that she’s leaving the Democratic Party to become an independent.
“How dumb do you have to be to get rejected from ‘The View’? Oh my God, it’s horrifying. Can you imagine? She must’ve had to go on some sort of antidepressant after that. I don’t even know what I’d do. I don’t think I could come to terms with that,” Kelly said on “The Megyn Kelly Show.”
Kelly compared Jean-Pierre’s rapid downfall to other press secretaries, whose careers have blossomed after leaving the White House.
“You have had press secretaries … Dana Perino, Kayleigh McEnany, Tony Snow back in the day … who are smart people. Who are not, really, let’s face it, utter morons who are just out there as mouthpiece,” Kelly pointed out.
“But Karine Jean Pierre is not on the list,” she said. “Even Jen Psaki, she’s not a moron, but Karine Jean Pierre is a total moron. You only need to have watched her for two days to pick that up.”
Guest Stu Burguiere joined the pile-on, saying: “You know, the stuff about ‘The View’ is amazing. I mean, do you know how intellectually unimpressive you must be to not be able to impress people on ‘The View’?”
“I mean, ‘The View’s’ basic programming strategy is to do a nationwide search for the four dumbest people on the planet and put them around the table,” he said. “And they were like, ‘Sorry, Karine, you’re just too terrible, even for us.'”
Kelly continued to rip apart Jean-Pierre and her flagging career.
“You truly are as dumb as — just a goat. I just like — they’ll take anybody over there, anybody! And especially if you can say you were the former Biden press secretary and you’re a lesbian and black and you got rejected?” she said. “You are dumber than dirt!”
“You’ve got to be kidding me,” Kelly claimed about Jean-Pierre leaving the Democratic Party. “What a lie. … She’s going to tell us what it’s like to be an independent?”
“There is literally nobody in the country who wants to hear her political analysis on anything,” Kelly concluded.
Kelly wasn’t alone — Biden insiders and loyalists have come out and blasted Jean-Pierre recently.
During a Chicago book tour event for “Original Sin,” authors Alex Thompson and Jake Tapper revealed the depth of internal frustration with Jean-Pierre’s performance.
“I think what’s really provoking anger from former Biden people… there was mass frustration on how she went about the job, felt that she was not good at it, was not aware she was not good at it, she did not try hard to get better at it. And there’s more focus on elevating her own profile than not,” Thompson recently told the audience at The Vic Theatre.
Thompson revealed that despite “mass bad reviews” within the Biden administration, Jean-Pierre was considered “untouchable” because she was close to top Jill Biden aide Anthony Bernal, and was protected in her role.
“And now for her to then go out after the Democratic Party elevated her to the top spokesperson job in the country and then for her to then try to sell books by leaving the party, they say that simmering resentment just exploded instantly,” Thompson said.
“I’d also say that the Biden culture was to punish and try to destroy people who spoke out,” Thompson said. “And yes, they don’t have power anymore, but they are watching very closely. I think some people still fear retaliation.”
According to Politico, Jean-Pierre was reportedly eyeing a co-host spot on “The View” but was rejected, despite appearing on the show multiple times while serving as press secretary.
She had defended Biden’s mental fitness on the show in July 2024, just one month after his catastrophic debate performance.
Jean-Pierre’s heavily criticized new memoir is titled “Independent: A Look Inside a Broken White House, Outside the Party Lines.”
