In a moment that no one could ever have seen coming….Jimmy Carter defended President Donald Trump. Gasp!
In one of his first interviews since President Trump took office, the former president opened up about his thoughts on the cultural that clashes with Trump and current politics.
And what did the New York Times columnist, Maureen Dowd, title her interview piece with Carter? “Jimmy Carter Lusts for a Trump Posting”.

The former president could in no stretch of the imagination ever be considered a conservative, but he did offer up some positive thoughts towards President Trump. Critics are not happy about this!
Carter explained that he would not mind serving as a liaison to North Korea, he even admitted to offering those services up to Trump’s national security advisor H.R. McMaster/
Jimmy Carter even threw a dig at former president Obama for his decision to bomb Yemen, and for his refusal to hold more serious discussions with North Korea.
He even admitted that just like President Trump, he is not happy about NFL players kneeling during the anthem. But, what educated American would be okay with it!? He explained, “[they] ought to find a different way to object, to demonstrate,” and added that he wished players would stand during the anthem.
Carter took a jab at all presidents before Trump by saying that the souring image of America’s image throughout the world “precedes Trump”…hint, hint Obama!
Hillary Clinton would not be happy to hear that the former president even said “I don’t think there’s any evidence that what the Russians did changed enough votes, or any votes,” and he sees no problem with the relationship between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Unfortunately for critics of President Trump, Jimmy Carter hit the nail on the head by stating, that the “media have been harder on Trump than any other president certainly that I’ve known about,” saying that reporters felt “free to claim that Trump is mentally deranged and everything else without hesitation.”
Whether Carter is trying to get himself a job in the Trump administration, or just finally speaking out against the hostility surrounding Trump’s presidency– Trump voters love his opinions made public!
The former president is not just telling President Trump exactly what he wants to hear, he is sharing with Americans exactly what they should hear.
