Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., had a secret conversation with Russians on Thursday that has leaked.
It was so secret, in fact, Waters herself didn’t know she was even talking to two men from Russia. She thought she was on a phone call with controversial climate activist Greta Thunberg — and Waters was asking the teenager for help impeaching the president.
Waters wanted dirt on President Donald Trump, and the teenage climate activist was promising to deliver.
The only problem? It wasn’t Thunberg on the line. It was just a group of Russian pranksters — and they’ve leaked the phone call to the public.
The conversation begins with the prankster telling Waters she was speaking to a room full of climate protesters in North Carolina. Waters heaped praise on the phony Thunberg.
“Thunberg” then tells Waters about a meeting she had with Trump — a made-up meeting — and Waters was all ears.
“It was a really terrible meeting in the U.N. building in September with him,” the prankster, pretending to be Thunberg, said. “And I had nightmares afterward. It’s terrible!”
“I saw him in the hallway,” the impersonator continues. “He was with security and I shouted at him, ‘Sign the Paris Climate Agreement again!’ He came over, he leaned in towards me, and said softly, ‘Listen carefully to me, little girl. You will never achieve your goal, like the congressional goal, trying to accuse me.'”
“He said you will never achieve your goal? Oh my goodness.” Waters replied. “Did you ask him if he would rethink signing the Paris Climate Agreement? Is that your question to him?”
Another prankster, pretending to be Thunberg’s father, then joined the conversation.
“He said to her, ‘You know, little girl, nobody believe you anyway, I will tell you the truth. I really pushed on Ukrainian president and you know that you will never achieve your goals like those congressional fools who accuse me,” the prankster claimed to Waters. “So nobody will believe you. You will be on trial like my competitor.”
Waters bought it, and started asking for the fake anti-Trump dirt.
“Oh, my God! He mentioned Ukrainian president?” an excited Waters asked.
After the pranksters claimed they had a recording of the president confessing to the Ukraine conspiracy, Waters invited them to meet her in person.
“Are you going to be in Washington anytime soon? I want you to come and meet with me in Washington,” Waters said.
The phony Thunberg family said they would do anything to get Trump impeached, and Waters was totally on-board.
“Well, you bring [the fake recording] to me,” Waters responded. “You tell me what day you can get there and we’ll arrange to meet with you as quickly as we can. … I will make myself available whenever you get there.”
