Most Americans are well aware of Maxine Waters’ “Impeach 45” movement, in which she shouts her desire to impeach President Donald Trump, without any logical reasoning to back it up.
And while she’s obsessed with her new platform, there is still a time and place to push a personal, political agenda.
Well, in Maxine’s world, apparently that place is the eulogy at a Christian funeral.
At the funeral for comedian and civil rights activist Dick Gregory Saturday, Maxine briefly slipped in comments that Gregory would agree with her negative views of Trump, but barely honored her friend otherwise.
“I wish I could sit with Dick, because I’ve got work to do” she begins.
“I’m cleaning out the White House. We’re going to sanitize the White House. We’re not going to take what is happening in this country.”
“Have you had enough?” she shouts to the crowd as if she’s at an Anti-Trump rally.
“This person who does not respect you. This dishonorable human being who cheats everybody!” This dishonorable human being who will lie at the drop of a hat.”
Just when it appears she’s forgotten the purpose of a eulogy, she slips in Gregory.
“I bet you Dick Gregory would tell me yeah, [Trump] did [collude with Russia]”
A bizarre and arguably inappropriate angle to take at a time intended for remembering the good qualities of someone who has passed, not their assumed political opinions.
Gregory passed away last month at 84. Both he and Waters are natives of St. Louis, Missouri.
She finished her speech with an embarrassing attempt to start an “Impeach 45” chant, which predictably did not catch on.
