Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., went viral for a stunt at Wednesday’s presidential debate.
Eight Republican candidates for president debated in Milwaukee, and at the same time, talk show host Tucker Carlson was airing his pre-taped interview with former President Donald Trump.
Greene attended the debate in Milwaukee… but during the event, she was watching Trump’s interview on her iPhone.

Lawyer-turned-pundit Glenn Greenwald tweeted a picture of Greene looking at her phone during the debate.
“I’m sitting directly behind@RepMTG at the GOP presidential debate and her attention appears to be at least…. divided,” Greenwald added. Greenwald has become known for his guest appearances on Carlson’s old show, Fox News Channel’s Tucker Carlson Tonight.
Greene claims to have spoken to Trump ahead of his Sunday announcement about skipping the debates.
“I actually advised him last week to not to come,” Greene told the Washington Post Wednesday.
“It’s a complete waste of time. He’s winning this primary election, poll after poll… There’s no reason for him to step on a debate stage with all these candidates and prove himself. The American people know exactly what he’s capable of, because we had him in office for four years.”

Greene has endorsed Trump in the GOP’s presidential primary, and she has described herself as a surrogate for Trump. In fact, Greene has been accused of staging the iPhone stunt to “perform” her support for Trump.
All Trump surrogates, including Greene, were blocked from entering Fox News Channel’s spin room. After the debate, Greene went on RSBN accused Fox News of censoring her.
“I’m really disgusted that they blocked us out of the spin room,” Greene said.
