A man accused of cutting holes in portable bathrooms at the Reno Rodeo to take secret photos of men urinating has been charged with more than 60 felony counts, including peeping or spying and capturing images of another’s private parts.
David Wilcox, 51, Reno, was being held Thursday in the Washoe County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
Detectives say they seized dozens of videos from devices he owned of adult, male genitalia all from inside portable bathrooms at the Reno Livestock Events Center.
The videos were recorded at the rodeo Friday and Saturday nights, they said.
Deputies arrested Wilcox early Sunday after a man told deputies he believed he was surreptitiously recorded by someone in a neighboring porta-potty. They watched Wilcox leave the bathroom and determined he had an active warrant for his arrest.
A rental company has replaced the bathrooms, which suffered more than $6,000 in damage.
Investigators say no faces are shown but all victims are believed to be adult men.
In addition to 61 image-related counts, Wilcox is charged with destruction of property and peering, peeping or spying through another’s dwelling while in possession of a deadly weapon. It’s not clear if he has an attorney or will be appointed one.
