Outspoken Colorado Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert is facing censure over alleged “racist and derogatory” comments about fellow Rep. Al Green’s protest during President Donald Trump’s joint address to Congress last week.
According to reports, House Democrat Chrissy Houlahan introduced a motion this that seeks to censure Beobert over her recent comments.

Boebert criticized Green for shaking his cane at Trump during his address, while the Texas Democrat was protesting Medicaid cuts proposed by the administration.
Green was escorted out of the U.S. Capitol chamber early on in Trump’s speech and was subsequently censured for a “breach of proper conduct.”
“For him to go and shake his pimp cane at President Trump was absolutely abhorrent,” Boebert said during a Friday appearance on Real America’s Voice.
Ironically, Houlahan’s move to defend Green comes after she joined 10 fellow Democrats and all House Republicans in voting in favor of the censure measure against Green.
However, she is leading the movement to censure Boebert for her comments about Green’s behavior.
“After my discussion on the House floor last week when Speaker Johnson told me he’d have to censure half the members if he actually enforced the rules of the Congress, I decided to help, and tonight introduced a resolution to censure Representative Boebert for her racist and derogatory statements about Representative Al Green (D-TX),” Houlahan said in a press release.
