The eyes of most Americans will be locked onto one thing Tuesday night — the State of the Union address, where President Donald Trump is expected to call for unity among American voters.

But Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., doesn’t want anyone to hear it. In fact, she’s demanding that voters don’t even watch.

“I’m not looking forward to his State of the Union — and I hope people will turn the television off,” Waters said.

So much for unity!

It’s also very unlikely to happen.

The 2018 State of the Union address on Fox News had the most viewership ever among all cable news networks.

“I don’t even know why he wants to come and give the State of the Union,” Waters told reporters. “The State of the Union under him has not been good. He has been divisive!”

The evidence shows otherwise.

Last year’s State of the Union was widely praise, including a powerful moment that filled the House chambers with a “USA” chant.

These facts won’t stop Waters, of course.

“He lies over and over again, like I said!” Waters said. “6,000 lies have been documented since he’s been there [White House]. But since he’s a great liar he’ll say anything. Because he’s capable of saying anything without facts, without research.”
