Fox Sports analyst Tom Brady knows a thing or two about being a great NFL quarterback.
Considered the best quarterback in the history of the NFL, Brady rose to stardom after being drafted as a relative nobody in the 7th round of the 2007 NFL draft to becoming arguably the best quarterback and Super Bowl champion the sport has ever seen.
Brady, who is now the lead analyst for FOX Sports NFL coverage, appeared on Fox Sports’ ‘The Heard with Colin Cowherd’ on Thursday to discuss the state of young quarterbacks in the NFL — particularly their development and how they are being judged.
Brady, who is known as being a meticulous perfectionist during his playing days, said that most young NFL quarterbacks were being unfairly judged by those who don’t know anything about football.
During the segment, Cowherd and Brady were discussing the development of Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams, last year’s overall No. 1 pick in the NFL draft who has yet to live up to his perceived potential.
Cowherd offered his opinion that the timeframe for evaluating quarterbacks has regressed and now, most quarterbacks are found out by Week 11 of their second season.
Brady offered his own experience after being picked late in the 2000 NFL Draft, saying that he dropped due to his perceived physical weaknesses.
However, during that answer, Brady dropped a few curse words on the afternoon sports talk show.
“Tom Brady, too weak, couldn’t stand in the pocket, if he gets hit he’s gonna go down, lacks a really strong arm.” That was kinda bulls**t,” Brady said.
“But what I really understood: the mental, emotional part. I could bring a consistent, competitive, winning attitude to the game and to practice every day,” added Brady
Later on in his discussion, Brady dropped another curse word while talking about how easy it is for outside noise to affect young quarterbacks.
“You got PFF grading you every week… and now you go as a first-year quarterback, you barely know s**t, and now everyone’s telling you “you suck” and it takes a while to re-gain your confidence. You lose your whole fanbase,” Brady explained.

Brady’s surprising words didn’t spark any backlash from the network, the league, or even fans.
In fact, the overwhelming response was praise for his candor, with social media posts labeling his remarks as perk of being the best to play the game.
One fan wrote, “It’s Tom Brady, the G.O.A.T. can say what he likes.”
Another added, “It’s Fox. You can get away with anything at Fox.” A third fan joked, “Brady cursing on air? G.O.A.T. privileges!”
