Liberal Washington, D.C. mayor Muriel Bowser suffered a very humiliating Independence Day.
What she did literally left critics’ jaws on the floor.
Bowser — intending to celebrate the Fourth of July with a Twitter post — instead posted a very graphic image to the social media platform.
For a brief moment, a pornographic anime photo was posted by her account.
The image depicted characters resembling Ronald McDonald of McDonald’s and Colonel Sanders of KFC. The two are standing beside the mascot of Wendy’s, posing in a lewd act.
The post featuring the picture was quickly removed, but not before the political world on Twitter caught wind of the post.
Journalist Natalia Antonova wrote, “somebody come get your intern.” Many who noticed the NSFW post seemed to come to the consensus that an intern likely uploaded the photo as a sort of prank.

“That’s not going to end well for someone,” another user, @73mountaineer, wrote.
Another, @randomduck, wrote “I’m guessing EOM will have an opening for a new social media person this week… ”

So while it’s unlikely this blunder came at the hands of Bowser herself, it’s still a major embarrassment from the nation’s capital on America’s birthday.
