Police are investigating how graphic pictures from inside the “meth-filled” hotel room of former Florida Democratic gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum — including one of a naked, vomiting Gillum — were leaked to The Daily Mail.
Gillum has entered rehab since the March 13 incident. Before that, he had been working as a CNN contributor after losing the close Florida gubernatorial election in 2018, and was considered a potential Democratic Vice Presidential candidate.
What the leaked photos contained was shocking.
According to The Daily Mail report, the pictures show an assortment of legal and illegal drugs.
Three baggies of methamphetamine are seen, along with dozens of pills spilled across the floor and bed. Empty prescription containers of gabapentin, which helps fight nerve pain, and citalopram, and anti-anxiety medication, are shown.
Also seen are soiled bedsheets and a pillow, covered in what appears to be vomit and human feces. Alcohol and sexual performance drugs were also inside the room, according to the police report.
Fire rescue crews were called to the expensive Miami Beach hotel in the middle of the night regarding a suspected drug overdose. Police say Gillum and two other men were in the hotel room.
“Mr. Gillum was unable to communicate due to his inebriated state,” the police report says.
Police say one of the men came into the hotel room and found Gillum and Travis Dyson, 30, apparently under the influence of an “unknown substance.”
Dyson is a bodybuilder and allegedly works as a homosexual male pornstar on the website Rent.Men. Gillum is a married father of three children.
Gillum claimed to have been in Florida to attend a wedding; Dyson has reportedly said that nothing about a wedding was mentioned to him.
Officials began chest compressions on Dyson and he was taken to a local hospital, where authorities say he has recovered.
Police say they’re investigating how the images were leaked to the media.
Editor’s Note: The Horn News has decided not to show the picture of an unconscious Andrew Gillum. While we disagree with Gillum on many things, we still believe it would be in poor taste to share the graphic image of him in such a condition.
Readers are warned that what is contained in these Daily Mail photos, shared below, is still disturbing.
