Fox News star Laura Ingraham’s appearance Thursday at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) 2019 left the crowd cheering.
Ingraham made a strong case against the rising tide of socialism in the United States – and it’s something every voter needs to hear.

The Fox News host warned that it’s time for conservatives to take these “Green New Deal” socialists seriously – and if they do, it will cost Democrats control of the U.S. government for the next 20 years.
“I take people like [socialist Congresswoman] Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) seriously because she’s the thought leader of the Dmeocatic Party right now,” Ingraham warned. “She says something, and the Democratic candidates jump to respond.”
“She is setting the Democrats foreign policy table. I take that very seriously… and so should you,” she said. “The Democratic Party of today has moved ever-leftward.”
Ingraham said it’s similar to the far-left jump Democrats made in the 1970s under former President Jimmy Carter.

“It’s a leftward lurch we’ve seen before … like when Vietnam vets were spit on, and we were sitting in gas lines, and suffering under huge interest rates.”
“I remember the malaise. The despondency. The hostages in Iran,” she continued. “I remember when you called Russia the evil empire, there were gasps throughout the liberal media and academia.”
The siren’s call of socialism will hurt both America and the Democratic Party, Ingraham predicted.
“In the 70s we see that didn’t go well, and Democrats lost 3 national elects in a row by astounding margins. Eventually, Bill Clinton moved back to the center, and the Democrats were back in the driver seat,” she said.

“But we’re going back to the 1970s,” Ingraham predicted. “The Democrats are responding to peace and prosperity … with socialism. They put their hopes in larger government. They put their hopes in dangling freebies for a new generation.”
“The light of [American] prosperity must not be allowed to dim,” she later concluded.
“This is all up to you,” she told the crowd of conservatives gathered in the National Harbor just outside of Washington, D.C.
“We have to reject the false promise of socialism,” she said. “All the giveaways never add up. Don’t let them take your freedom. Don’t let them frighten you into silence.”

“I’m not about to relieve 1977 and the gas lines and the malaise and the sadness,” she said, and joked: “Putting Corey Booker or … Elizabeth Warren in charge of the economy is like putting [Virginia Gov.] Ralph Northam in charge of your daycare.”
