“Seinfeld” co-creator Larry David is reprising a role he made famous himself during the show’s hay day.
And fans can’t wait for David to bring it back.
David will reprise his laughable role as long time former New York Yankees owner George Steinbrenner for a marketing campaign for Topps, who is releasing a new set of baseball cards under its Bowman brand.
The 2024 Bowman Draft set features a card of NFL legend John Elway wearing a New York Yankees jersey.
Elway was selected in the MLB Draft first by the Royals in 1979 and then by the Yankees in the second round of the 1981 Draft, just a few picks before the San Diego Padres selected Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn.
Elway never played baseball and went on to become the quarterback for the Denver Broncos.
Topps created a hilarious new ad to promote the special Elway cards featuring ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith and, David as Steinbrenner, which tells the story of how Steinbrenner pushed for the team to select Elway over Gwynn.
