Republicans are likely to retake a majority in the House after this year’s midterm elections, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., has predicted.
McCarthy has big plans for the year 2023… and the Democrats won’t be happy.
The Republican leader plans to remove at least three controversial Democrats from their committees, citing a standard set by the Democrats themselves.

Last year, McCarthy criticized the House’s Democratic majority for stripping committee assignments from GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia. He called the practice a “partisan power grab” in a statement obtained by The New York Times.
On Monday, McCarthy told Breitbart News what he plans to do about it.
McCarthy wants to play by the Democrats’ own rules, according to the interview. He intends to kick uncooperative Democrats off their committees… just as the Democrats did to both Greene and Rep. Paul Gosar, R-Ariz.
He cited Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., as an example.
“Ilhan Omar should not be serving on Foreign Affairs,” McCarthy told Breitbart. “This is a new level of what the Democrats have done.”
However, McCarthy said that he would remove other Democrats for the sake of our national security, not just for partisan, political reasons.
He named Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., and Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., as two liabilities to our safety.

He took issue with Schiff, the Intelligence Committee chairman, for focusing directing too many resources toward impeachment and too few toward Afghanistan.
McCarthy said:
We’re going to reshape—think about what happened in Afghanistan. Why did Afghanistan collapse so fast? Was the Intel Committee under Adam Schiff focused on impeachment and not on the safety of America?…
We need to have an Intel Committee that looks at what’s happening around the world and keeps America safe. It should do exactly what it was created [to do]—overseeing of our agencies and others. We’re going to hold people to a higher standard in the process if they want to be on the Intel Committee and the training to be a part of it. Take the politics out of it.
McCarthy went one step further in his accusations against Swalwell. He accused Swalwell of careless lapses in security, and he challenged Swalwell to pass a background check.
He told Breitbart News on Monday, “If Eric Swalwell cannot get a security clearance in the private sector, there is no reason why he should be given one to be on Intel or Homeland Security. He will not be serving there.”

McCarthy was presumably referring to the reports of contact between Swalwell’s staff and Christine Fang, a suspected spy for China.
Swalwell blackballed Fang from his office after a 2015 briefing, according to Axios. Before that, she reportedly appeared with Swalwell at events, raised funds for his 2014 campaign, and successfully recommended an intern to him. It is suspected that Swalwell had an affair with the suspected Chinese spy.
Last month, Swalwell doxxed a Canadian man for using fiery language about the Fang scandal.
“Karma sucks,” the Canadian man told Swalwell via Instagram.
If McCarthy manages to fire Pelosi in November, then Omar, Schiff, and Swalwell will each face the Democrats’ own bad karma.
