When President Donald Trump met with leaders of historically black college and universities at the Oval Office, there was only one thing the mainstream media focused on —
Kellyanne Conway, Trump’s senior advisor, kneeling on the couch getting ready to take a picture.
This is exactly how the mainstream media works: Liberals ignored the purpose of the meeting between minorities leaders and the White House, and used a simple picture to launch a nasty attack against Conway.
When Louisiana Rep. Cedric Richmond went too far, Conway started firing back.
“I really just want to know what was going on there, because, you know, I won’t tell anybody. And you can just explain to me that circumstance,” Richmond said at a Washington Press Club Foundation Dinner on Wednesday. “She really looked kind of familiar in that position there. But, don’t answer, and I don’t want you to refer back to the 1990s.”
Where was the media outrage?
Hint: There was none. Zero. Zilch.
So why does Richmond get a free pass? Conway has an idea — and what she said was stunning.
Conway told The Daily Caller there’d be far more media outrage if she were liberal.
“And it is not just if I were a liberal woman, but if I were a pro-abortion one,” she said.
She has a point.
Imagine if a conservative made a joke about one of former President Barack Obama’s female advisors “looking familiar” on her knees?
There’d be riots in the streets and scathing Washington Post op-eds and another Women’s March on D.C!
But when a conservative woman is subject to nasty, sexist attacks?
The silence from the media is deafening.
However, Kellyanne isn’t the only woman speaking out about this.
GOP Chairwoman Ronna Romney McDaniel also lashed out on Richmond’s crude remarks, tweeting —
.@RepRichmond, you may think this is funny, but it’s not. It’s disgusting & offensive. 1/3https://t.co/3FOrBnweX0
— Ronna McDaniel (@RonnaMcDaniel) March 2, 2017
A snarky joke for you is just a reminder of the demeaning comments women hear every single day. And trust me, it happens to all women. 2/3
— Ronna McDaniel (@RonnaMcDaniel) March 2, 2017
Richmond has yet to apologize, of course, and instead stated that his comments were simply interpreted incorrectly by women.
Somehow, liberals think they own women’s issues.
That’s unacceptable — and it’s even more unacceptable that the mainstream media lets them get away with it.
