Television personality Keith Olbermann began his career as a sports commentator on ESPN in the 1990s.
Then joined MSNBC as a political commentator for the following decade.
Today, Olbermann spends most of his free time firing off unhinged social media rants targeting conservatives.
But in the wake of recent staff reductions at his former network, Olbermann is now claiming it was due to race and not sinking ratings in the post-Donald Trump election era.
Olbermann went on yet another wild, unhinged rant yesterday over MSNBC’s “racist purge.”
His words, as he’s calling it.
It started when news broke over the weekend that this will be Joy Reid’s final week at the liberal network, sending Olbermann into a tailspin.
The cable news channel, which has seen ratings drop since the election of President Donald Trump, is attempting a reshuffle of talent.
But according to Olbermann, it is nothing more than “a confused, brutal, racist purge at MSNBC it’s like they’re being run by Elon Musk.”

Olbermann then went on to call out his white colleagues, including MSNBC personalities Rachel Maddow, Lawrence O’Donnell and Chris Hayes, threatening them to call the moves racists while on the air.
“Dear @maddow, If you go on the air tonight – or at minimum go on without condemning the overt racism of the people who give you $25 million a year – you are complicit. Same for you [O’Donnell] and [Hayes],” the former SportsCenter legend tweeted.
“Protest, or you are all Joe Scarborough,” Olbermann continued.
Reid’s departure comes after reports of the cable channel finishing January with its worst January ratings ever.
On Wednesday, February 19, an episode of Gold Rush on Discovery had more viewers than Reid.
On January 6, Reid’s show had just 708,000 viewers.
As for the alleged racism? Well, public reports from MSNBC are well documented that many of the network’s personalities are being replaced with minorities with strong credentials.
Symone Sanders, a former Kamala Harris’ spokeswoman who is African-American now joins the network.
Along with Michael Steele; black man, the former RNC Chairman who is a never-Trumper (and is black).
And finally, Bob Menendez’s daughter will also be joining the network.
But it appears that Olbermann looked past all of that, right?
