Kavanaugh accuser’s case falling apart?

Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s third accuser appearance on NBC News Monday was a controversial affair — and it left viewers scratching their heads.

Are her charges falling apart? Her ex-boyfriend seems to think so.

Julie Swetnick, who last week accused Kavanaugh of being party to her gang-rape in the 1980s, talked with NBC star Kate Snow about her accusations. Swetnick is represented by Michael Avenatti, who also represents porn star Stormy Daniels.

During the interview, NBC noted that Swetnick changed parts of her story. She also declined to identify Kavanaugh as one of her attackers.

“I cannot specifically say that he was one of the ones who assaulted me. But, before this happened to me, at that party, I saw Brett Kavanaugh there, I saw Mark Judge, and they were hanging out about where I started to feel disoriented and where the room was and where the other boys were hanging out and laughing,” Swetnick claimed.

“I saw [Kavanaugh] giving red Solo cups to quite a few girls during that time frame, and there was green punch at those parties,” Swetnick said. “And I would not take one of those glasses from Brett Kavanaugh. I saw him around the punch. I won’t say bowls, or the punch containers… I don’t know what he did, but I saw him by them.”

Swetnick named four witnesses to these sex-filled rape parties. NBC News said they were unable to verify the claims. The news channel noted that one alleged witness said he didn’t know Swetnick, one is deceased, and the other two have declined to comment.

“We’ve been trying independently to reach out to anyone who remembers attending parties with Julie Swetnick and Brett Kavanaugh, and we’ve been asking her attorney for names,” Snow said. “So far, we’ve not found anyone who remembers that.”

Avenatti tweeted a defense of Swetnick on Monday after the interview, and said she was willing to take a polygraph test and meet with the FBI.

Of course, NBC News wasn’t the only news outlet covering Swetnick’s claims on Monday.

Fox News interviewed Richard Vinneccy, a former lover of Swetnick, leveled his own fiery accusations. Vinneccy said Swetnick frequently lied or exaggerated the truth, and that she once threatened the life of his pregnant girlfriend.

“Right after I broke up with her, she basically called me many times and at one point she said, ‘You will never, ever see your unborn child alive,'” Richard Vinneccy told Fox News’ Laura Ingraham.

“I’m just going to go over there and kill you guys,” Vinneccy said Swetnick told him. He said they dated for approximately seven-years, but she’d never mentioned her claims against Kavanaugh.

“Never. Never once did she mention that to me. We used to talk about everything. She never once mentioned that at all.” Vinneccy told Ingraham.

He continued: “If you ask me personally if I believe her, I don’t believe her. I really don’t believe her. Nobody knows Julie Swetnick better than me.”
