White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre couldn’t juggle her latest press briefing when the mainstream media started asking about Hunter Biden.
The explosive IRS whistleblower testimony released by the House Ways and Means Committee last week called into question President Joe Biden’s involvement in his son Hunter’s controversial foreign business dealings.
“The president invited his son Hunter to the state dinner last night,” CNN asked about Biden’s formal dinner with India’s prime minister. “I’m wondering if you could take us into the thinking and decision-making why the president decided to…”
Jean-Pierre interrupted the question and said she would not answer any queries regarding Hunter and his relationship with the White House.
“I’m just not going to get into family discussion, personal family discussion,” Jean-Pierre shot back. “As you know, Hunter is his son. I’m just not going to get into that.”
“If Hunter Biden wasn’t the president’s son, would he have invited someone who had just reached a plea agreement with federal prosecutors to dinner?” CNN’s Jeremy Diamond pressed.
“Well, a couple of things,” Jean-Pierre replied. “Again, that’s his son. He’s a family member. It is not uncommon for family members to attend events at the White House.”
“You could look at past presidents. I’m sure you have,” she said without evidence. “So that is not uncommon. As it relates to anything related to Hunter, I’m just not going to respond to it from here.”
And then it gets worse.
