Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign is doing some serious soul searching after a decisive defeat to Republican President-elect Donald Trump left her campaign wondering…
What happened?!
Harris insiders are now playing the blame game, and their fingers are pointed directly at her running mate Gov. Tim Walz, D-M.N.
According to Harris-Walz surrogate Lindy Li, a member of the DNC National Finance Committee, she told Fox News reporter Jacqui Heinrich that Walz was a bad choice.
Insiders on the Harris team are now wondering if the outcome of the landslide election would have been different (or at least closer) if Harris had selected Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro as her running mate, who many believed was her top choice.
The blame game has begun inside Harris world.
Harris-Walz surrogate @lindyli, a member of the DNC National Finance Committee and PA commissioner tells me:
– Tim Walz was a bad choice of running mate, Shapiro would have carried the blue wall states.
Li: "People are wondering…— Jacqui Heinrich (@JacquiHeinrich) November 6, 2024
“People are wondering tonight what would have happened had Shapiro been on the ticket,” Li said. “And not only in terms of Pennsylvania. He’s famously a moderate. So that would have signaled to the American people that she is not the San Francisco liberal that Trump said she was.”
Harris passed on Josh Shapiro, despite being the governor of the crucial swing state Pennsylvania, as her running mate, reportedly because Shapiro is Jewish and Harris was worried about upsetting the antisemitic far-Left wing of the party, according to a Daily Wire report.
Lin added that Harris, instead, chose someone to her Left, “who oversaw the protests” in Minnesota. Those 2020 Black Lives Matter riots over George Floyd’s murder were incredibly destructive for many cities across the nation, according to Li.
Walz was dogged by multiple of scandals, including his apparent ties to China, his penchant for telling obvious lies, and the exaggeration of his military service.
While insiders are pointing to Walz as the big problem, Li did not abstain Harris for her shortcomings, either.
Li highlighted how Harris seemingly reversed many of her positions staked out during the 2020 election and her past political career while failing to distance herself from President Joe Biden.
“She knows that it was a mistake to say on ‘The View’ that she couldn’t think of a single thing that she would do differently from the Biden administration,” Li told Heinrich. “That was [an] opener for her to show Americans that she’s going to get tough on the border, that she’s going to take drastic measures to bring down inflation. That was her chance.”
