Last month, NBC News polled 1,000 registered voters, including 867 voters interviewed via cell phone… and the pollsters found some bad news for Vice President Kamala Harris.
According to this poll, most registered voters — 53 percent — held a negative view of Harris. That’s a record low for Harris in this poll, dating back to August 2020.
It gets worse.
42 percent reported a “very negative” view of the vice president. 16 percent remained neutral, and only 28 percent viewed her positively.
Plus, the voters have made up their minds about Harris. Only 3 percent of respondents were “not sure.” That’s down from 13 percent in 2020.
The rest, 16 percent, remained neutral.
Harris dismissed all polls in a recent interview with Katie Couric.
“If I listened to polls, I would have never run for my first office or probably my second or third for that matter,” Harris told newscaster Katie Couric last month. “I only put so much stock in polls.”
Harris has also made excuses for her administration’s lack of popularity. The problem is P.R., she says.
“We have a lot of accomplishments, and I think what the American people want most in their leaders is that we actually get things done, and we have done it… We haven’t taken adequate credit for it, frankly, and we’ve got to do a better job of getting the word out,” Harris told Couric.
“We have historic accomplishments in terms of the economy – what we’ve done to move forward – science, technology and investment in the American workforce, growing the American workforce, rising wages, bringing down prices… It is incumbent on us to let people know who brought it to them.”
The poll from NBC News showed Harris one silver lining. Her boss, President Joe Biden, is polling worse by some metrics.
54 percent of respondents held a “very negative” view of Biden. That’s the highest number since the beginning of this poll in September 2007.
Worse yet, only 9 percent of respondents held a “neutral” opinion on Biden. That’s the second-lowest percentage of neutral parties since 2007, and it cuts against Biden’s message of unity.
Still, Biden’s favorability rating (-16) remains higher than the vice president’s (-25).
