Vice President Kamala Harris has largely receded from the headlines, following a surge of tabloid interest in 2020 and 2021.
Yet, Harris has yet to rehabilitate her poor reputation, according to a new poll.

Between June 16 and 20, pollsters at NBC News surveyed 1,000 registered voters, mostly by cell phone… and they found some bad news for the vice president.
Harris is pulling a net favorability rating of negative 17 points. She even set a record in this 28-year-old poll. She’s polling more unfavorably than any other vice president at the two-year mark.
For example, former Vice President Al Gore had a favorability rating of +15 in NBC’s poll from March 1995, and Dick Cheney had a rating of +23.
Even President Joe Biden, known for his low approval ratings, was polling more favorably than Harris at this point in his vice presidency. In March 2010, Biden was sitting at +2 percent favorability.
Former Vice President Mike Pence was polling underwater in October 2019… but he was underwater by four points, not 17.
Harris has slid seven points since January. Back then, she was polling unfavorably by only 11 points, instead of 17.
All in all, 49 percent of registered voters reported a “somewhat” or “very” negative view of Harris. By contrast, only 32 percent reported a “somewhat” or “very” positive view.
It gets worse.
The 6-point decrease in her net favorability ratings doesn’t even take into account the four-point decrease in the percentage of voters viewing her “very positively.”

Plus, 39 percent of voters viewed her “very” negatively. That’s greater than the combined percentage of voters viewing her either “somewhat” or “very” positively.
