Kamala Harris loses 40-year Democratic Party endorsement

For nearly 40 years, one of the most powerful, and politically connected unions have stood behind the Democratic Party.

But that legacy endorsement is not going to happen for Kamala Harris’ campaign.

According to a report from RedState, the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) has followed in the footsteps of the Teamsters union and declined to endorse a candidate in the 2024 presidential race.

This stunning about-face breaks with a decades-long tradition of the IAFF endorsing nearly all Democratic presidential candidates.

A post that appeared on the IAFF’s X account this past Thursday stated that their executive board voted not to endorse after “taking unprecedented steps to hear our members’ views and the policy issues that matter most to them” over the past year.

Here’s the full statement:

The IAFF’s decision is not good news at all for Kamala, who is one of only two Democrat presidential candidates since 1984 to not receive the endorsement.

The other candidate? Hillary Clinton. And we all know what happened to her candidacy.

This is … not a good timeline if you are Kamala Harris.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump has shored up the endorsement of the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), the nation’s largest police union, and one of the most politically connected unions in the country.

And, Fox News reported that United Auto Workers (UAW) members are starting to move towards supporting Trump.
