Former Vice President Kamala Harris made an unexpected appearance at Thursday’s Lakers-Warriors game in Los Angeles — and was humiliated by a bored, minimal crowd response as she and husband Doug Emhoff took seats far from courtside.
“Kamala Harris and Doug Emhoff arrive at the Lakers game. Pretty much nobody cared,” noted one social media user, as footage showed the couple climbing to row 58 near the broadcast booth.
“Just goes to show you how unpopular Kamala really is and how all the hoopla while she campaigned was completely fake.”
TNT broadcaster Stan Van Gundy also heckled Harris during the telecast, “I gotta tell ya, I’m a big Kamala Harris fan, but I wish she wasn’t here today.”
The remark came as cameras caught Harris smiling and waving, though only a handful of spectators acknowledged her presence.
The former vice president’s upper-level seating prompted social media commentary about her wild campaign spending, after she blew through over a billion dollars in donations in just three months on her failed 2024 election challenge to President Donald Trump.
“Kamala Harris is at the Lakers Warriors game in like row 58. Should’ve saved some of that money,” posted one attendee.

The Lakers defeated Golden State 120-112 in the February 6 matchup at Crypto.com Arena. The game comes days before President Donald Trump’s planned Super Bowl LIX appearance Sunday, where he is expected to draw significant crowd response based on previous receptions at sporting events including college football games, NASCAR races, and UFC fights.
Following her huge defeat in November’s election, Harris has made few public appearances since conceding to Trump.
