Four months ago, Kamala Harris was considered the “joy” of her party, the future of American politics, and the next president of the United States.
She just made an announcement about her future she must have considered humbling, and every political aficionado must consider intriguing.
She’s going Hollywood… to join the D-list.
The L.A.-based agency Creative Arts Agency released a last week saying CAA “will work closely with Harris on her post-White House initiatives, creating strategic opportunities that expand her platform.” The announcement says that will include representing the ex-veep “in all areas, focusing on speaking engagements and publishing.”
CAA has connections in every part of the entertainment industry, but it has long roots in television—which has set some observers speculating she may have plotted out the first step on her long road to the White House.
And it could be as host of a cooking show on a struggling cable channel.
“In all seriousness, Kamala would be a terrific host for the Food Network. No one disputes this,” said Breitbart News. “Make it so.”

Before you laugh, remember, Harris would be following the lead of another president: A certain Donald John Trump went directly from being host of The Apprentice to president of the United States, in large part based on his popularity from the series.
Kamala Harris’ biggest problems were her liberalism and her lack of personality.
But when she cooks, the robotic, scripted politician becomes genuinely engaging—and she has actual talent.
CAA knew this—which is why, when the group represented her as a senator before she became vice president, they put her on cooking shows every chance they got.
Kamala Harris turned heads in one case by cracking an egg with one hand.
“You’re a pro!” said the host.
Harris went on to mix up cookie batter and ad lib like a born TV host.
“It is just so yummy. I mean, butter and sugar?! What could be better in the world?” asked Harris. “It’s probably not healthy, but it’s just really delicious.”
Harris leaned into cooking on the campaign trail. She shared a pork recipe while grilling up burgers at the Iowa State Fair during her aborted run for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2019.
“Anybody want more recipes?” she asked at the end.
Maybe she was on to something.

In another instance, she made a traditional Indian dish, because of her Indian heritage.

“So what we’re going to cook today is an Indian recipe, because you are Indian.”

In another clip, she shared her personal recipe for collard greens.
“I have a friend who throws a Christmas Eve party every year, and she would always ask me to make the greens. I made so many that I had to wash them in the bathtub—I’m serious!” said Harris.
“First, I chop up the bacon and get all that fat going. Then I put garlic, some chili peppers, andthen lot of water, and a little chicken stock … so you get that going and all that flavor and then I put the greens in for a couple of hours. Then I do vinegar and then I cheat and do a little bit of Tabasco.”
“I see why you get invited back every year,” her friend responded.
One of her first stops after leaving Washington, D.C., was a publicized trip to the grocery store with her husband, Doug Emhoff.
Look, Kamala is finally figuring out her place in life!

It’s not just Breitbart; some people in the industry think she has a future cooking on television.
Saturday Night Live cast member James Austin Johnson did an uncanny impression of Harris hosting a cooking competition earlier this month on Late Night.
“Now, before you do this, you’re sure?!” asked the show’s host, Seth Meyers—a dyed-in-the-wool liberal.
Johnson imitated the vice president’s voice and diction with eerie precision.
It was so spot-on, is it possible Johnson had heard something from his Hollywood connections?

Where’s there’s smoke, is there a gas-fired grill?
CAA opened its very own culinary division—Vector Eats—in 2018. “CAA already represents many chefs and food personalities including Gordon Ramsay, Roy Choi, Duff Goldman, Christina Tosi, Tyler Florence, Curtis Stone, Richard Blais, Katie Lee, Graham Elliott and Michael Mina, among many others. Additionally, Chason’s clients including Josh Besh, Amanda Freitag, Alex Thomopoulos and Jonathan Waxman, among others,” said the agency at the time.
Interestingly, CAA is the same Hollywood talent agency Joe Biden signed with just last month.
Is it possible Hollywood is cooking up the worst reboot of “Regis and Kathie Lee” ever conceived?
Then again, Biden had signed with CAA after he was no longer vice president.
CAA also represents Barack and Michelle Obama.
Maybe it wants to churn out books to keep Kamala’s name in public until she runs for some other office on her way back to the White House. That’s what Joe Biden did.
But Kamala Harris, who just turned 60, may be playing the long game, following the footsteps of a winner—Donald Trump—from TV to the White House.
We haven’t always seen eye-to-eye with Kamala Harris. We probably haven’t ever agreed with her.
But if she wants to develop her personality and host a culinary show, we say, “Good luck, and bon appetit!”
