Before becoming vice president, Kamala Harris served a long career as a California prosecutor and as a U.S. senator. In other words, she’s amassed a long career full of forgotten remarks.
Sometimes, Harris has been haunted by her past stances, like her public reversal on marijuana legalization.
Other times, Harris has gone viral for more innocuous reasons. Since Thanksgiving, she’s become an internet meme for her scatterbrained rant about turkey with thyme
Last month, MSNBC’s Jonathan Capehart tweeted an outtake from a 2019 interview with then-Sen. Harris.
“Do the salt and pepper all over. Just, like, lather that baby up,” Harris said, gesturing in circles. “Then get a nice, big bottle of cheap white wine to baste with butter.”
A couple of times, Harris looked away abruptly, in order to take a call.
One person said, “This is how I talk after getting two coffee refills.”

Twitter users joked about the former senator’s wild, circular gestures.
“You’re the dr pepper button on the soda fountain and i have a large empty cup with ice,” one person said, attaching a screenshot of Harris with her finger pointed at the camera.
Some Democrats contend that Harris displayed savvy instincts in the Senate only to lose them upon becoming vice president.
Yet, even as a senator, Harris showed the same, familiar tics characterizing her vice presidency. For example, Harris has talked very, very intensely about everyday topics, like Venn diagrams and frozen turkeys.
