Recent polls indicate that Vice President Kamala Harris is struggling to gain traction among a key demographic: male voters across the country.
It doesn’t matter their age, race, or religion — Harris is stuck, according to even friendly polls.
And it had MSNBC talking heads freaking out.
During a panel discussion on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” contributor Katty Kay highlighted the how deep the problem goes — and said the Harris campaign is running out of time.
“The real struggle for the Harris campaign is young men, older men, men of color, white men,” Kay stated. ” And they’re doing all they can. The debate next week will be really interesting to see how Tim Walz reaches out to that group.”
The Harris campaign appears to be pinning its hopes on an unusual strategy: Doug Emhoff, Harris’ husband and potential first husband, is attempting to connect with male voters through the campaign. The campaign “know they have a weakness.”
Critics argue that relying on surrogates like Walz and Emhoff do not address the root of Harris’ polling challenges, because her issues stem from broader understanding of Harris’ lackluster candidacy and record, rather than simply a lack of male outreach.
William A. Jacobson, a legal scholar, remarked on social media, “Hard to believe that a political party built around demonizing men is having trouble with male voters of all ages, colors, ethnicities, etc.”
He wasn’t alone —
"Guys, male voters aren't buying our campaign"
"All good. Get Walz on stage and have him wave like a maniac on speed" https://t.co/jQlqmoCbwC pic.twitter.com/UOj37beqxI

Again, if you're relying on Tim Walz to reach out to male voters, you have misunderstood the nature of the problem. https://t.co/VLzQTSYs0S

The Harris campaign’s desperate attempt to overcome this polling deficit will be critical with less than 40 days until the election.
