The self-proclaimed “tolerant” left continues to prove there is nothing too low for them.
This most recent insult is so appalling, Americans, from far-left to far-right, are calling for the bully behind it to lose her job.
But after all the liberal jabs thrown at President Donald Trump, what makes this one so much worse?
The victim.
Donald Trump’s 10-year-old son Barron was the subject of a disgusting tweet from “Saturday Night Live” writer Katie Rich on Inauguration Day. After intense and well-deserved backlash, Rich deleted the tweet and made her twitter page private.
When she woke up this morning, she’s also going to have to cope with being suspended indefinitely from her position at SNL, according to the New York Times.
Media analyst Mark Dice was able to capture the disgusting attack before it was removed:
.@nbcsnl writer @katiemaryrich calls President Trump's 10-Year-Old son a mass murderer. Hey @NBC @NBCUniversal why is this hate tolerated? pic.twitter.com/ZYDVSETLJn
— Mark Dice (@MarkDice) January 21, 2017
It’s clear even the producers of SNL, who have proven to enjoy lambasting Trump in the past, don’t condone the attack of an innocent child. Rich’s name did not appear in the credits Saturday following the tweet, further confirming reports of her indefinite suspension.
Rich, 33, has been writing for SNL since 2013. Hopefully, her career has officially come to an end.
She removed the twitter post after about three hours, but the damage was already done.

Other Twitter users rushed to the young man’s defense, tweeting that Rich is a “piece of trash” and calling for a boycott of NBC.
One user created a change.org petition, and nearly 60,000 supporters have signed a call for Rich’s suspension to change into full-out firing.
CNN Anchor Jake Tapper criticized Rich in a tweet:
That it even need be said is ridiculous, but mocking the 10-year-old child of a politician you loathe is odious, immoral, & self-defeating
— Jake Tapper (@jaketapper) January 21, 2017
But she didn’t just mock the young Trump, she asserted that he would grow up to be a murdering madman – a slanderous, evil statement.
Perhaps the most surprising person to come to Barron’s defense is former Trump rival Hillary Clinton’s daughter, Chelsea.
Barron Trump deserves the chance every child does-to be a kid. Standing up for every kid also means opposing @POTUS policies that hurt kids.
— Chelsea Clinton (@ChelseaClinton) January 22, 2017
While her tweet was a slight at President Trump’s proposed policies, she recognized that children embroiled in politics still deserve the chance to be children.
Rich attempted to reconcile her major gaffe in a tweet Monday:
I sincerely apologize for the insensitive tweet. I deeply regret my actions & offensive words. It was inexcusable & I'm so sorry.
— Katie Rich (@katiemaryrich) January 23, 2017
But her public guilt is a clear reaction to the threat of unemployment and wide-spread criticism she received from all Americans. Her true self was revealed the second she attacked an innocent child whom she doesn’t even know, and in turn ruined her reputation more than SNL will ever be able to mar Trump’s.
