Talk about a dangerous emissions…
A short 0:33 clip of former Secretary of State John Kerry being interrupted by a loud fart during a recent climate summit went viral on Tuesday.
Speaking at the Climate Change Conference in Dubai, Kerry said he was growing “more militant” about climate change.
Then, it seemed, he released his own alarm bell into the atmosphere.
“I find myself getting more and more militant because I do not understand how adults who are in a position of responsibility can be avoiding responsibility for taking away those things that are killing people on a daily basis,” Kerry said.
He’s interrupted by the sound of an audible fart, making the woman sitting on stage next to him react. CNN’s Becky Anderson, sitting to Kerry’s right, reacts and covers her nose. The Executive Director of the International Energy Agency, Fatih Birol, manages to maintain his composure.
“And the reality is that the climate crisis and the health crisis are one and the same!” Kerry finished. The crowd broke into applause, oblivious — or just ignoring — the gaseous interruption
Critics pounced on the viral video.
“It is the most intelligent expression of John Kerry’s entire life,” one wrote.
“He was sounding the alarm bell, lol,” wrote another.
“Very fitting sound for anything John Kerry says,” a third commented.
