President Joe Biden’s final weeks in office have been marked by rock bottom polling, Democratic Party allies abandoning him in droves, and his concerning public appearances — the latest being his strange and confused performance at the White House Christmas tree lighting ceremony on Thursday.
It has been a bad Christmas for the Biden family, and it is getting worse by the day.
A new Daily Mail poll ranks Biden as the worst president in 47 years, placing him below both former Presidents Richard Nixon and Jimmy Carter.
The survey of 1,006 registered voters showed 44 percent ranking him among the bottom two presidents, with only 14 percent placing him in the top two.
“These numbers are worse than I expected,” said James Johnson, cofounder of J.L. Partners polling. “Voters have obviously looked at his age, general conduct in office, his botched withdrawal from Afghanistan, the situation at the southern border, and decided that, in their view, it qualifies him to be the worst president in modern history.”
Biden has faced years of withering criticism by Republicans over his missteps, but has been shielded by a friendly mainstream media and Democratic Party allies. But the presidents controversial pardon of his son Hunter has sparked fierce backlash within his own party and the media, who have largely abandoned him.
It seems they’ve gotten what they want out of Biden, and are casting him aside.
In fact, it has gotten so bad that major Democratic donors are now withholding funding for his presidential library project in Delaware, with no major donors yet committed to giving a single dollar.
“If they had their sh*t together, they would have been doing the work on this over summer,” one Democrat told Axios.
Sources say Biden’s family has been shocked by the intensity of Democratic criticism over the Hunter pardon.
The president’s public appearances have also drawn renewed scrutiny as his lame duck period limps to an end.
At Thursday’s National Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony, Biden’s erratic behavior led critics to question whether he was mentally there — or was even sober.

This followed Wednesday’s incident in Angola where he passed out in the middle of a foreign diplomatic meeting.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre indicated more pardons may come before Biden leaves office, with reports suggesting Dr. Anthony Fauci and Liz Cheney could receive clemency.
Biden’s approval rating has dropped to 37 percent, with more than half of voters saying they oppose his pardon of Hunter Biden. The president defended the decision, claiming his son was “selectively, and unfairly, prosecuted” by his own Department of Justice.
Hunter had pleaded guilty to tax and firearm charges and was awaiting sentencing when his father issued the sweeping pardon — a pardon that covers both the crimes Hunter pleaded guilty to and any that haven’t yet been uncovered over the past decade.
Biden will finally hand over power to President-elect Donald Trump on January 20, following his decision to abandon his reelection bid in July amid poor polling numbers.
