First Son Hunter Biden has been under investigation for his taxes since his father’s time as vice president. By Oct. 2020, he had allegedly left his laptop with a Delaware repairman without erasing his sensitive emails, according to a bombshell report at the time by the New York Post.
But the mainstream media dismissed this story as Russian disinformation. Joe Biden, then the Democratic presidential candidate, called it “a Russian plant.” Twitter suspended the account run by the NY Post — the country’s oldest daily newspaper, founded by Alexander Hamilton.
Then on Wednesday, The New York Times reported an update on the tax investigation into Hunter Biden… and the paper confirmed the existence of a laptop full of Hunter Biden’s emails discussing his father.
“People familiar with the investigation said prosecutors had examined emails between Mr. Biden… and others,” the Times wrote.
The paper continued:
Those emails were obtained by The New York Times from a cache of files that appears to have come from a laptop abandoned by Mr. Biden in a Delaware repair shop. The email and others in the cache were authenticated by people familiar with them and with the investigation.
The Times buried this fact deep in an article behind a very expensive paywall, but that didn’t stop it from going viral. As of Thursday, the story was a top trending topic on Twitter — the same platform that once suspended users for sharing the story.
Twitter users have been digging up Biden allies’ old tweets about “Russian disinfo.”

When is Jen Psaki going to get suspended for misinformation, along with the "dozens of former intel officials" ??? https://t.co/1oXOcig5sD

President Biden himself has come under scrutiny for his old remarks about the laptop.
He told Trump in fall 2020, “There are 50 former national intelligence folks who said that what he’s accusing me of is a Russian plant… Five former heads of the CIA, both parties, say what he’s saying is a bunch of garbage. Nobody believes it except his good friend Rudy Giuliani.”
At the time, even CNN’s “fact-checkers” accused Joe Biden of mischaracterizing the intelligence officers’ letter. Even the liberal Times was saying, “No concrete evidence has emerged that the laptop contains Russian disinformation.”
In retrospect, Joe Biden’s remarks look even worse — he was clearly lying the whole time.
