“On the Holmes Front,” with Frank Holmes
The legacy media could not help but cover President Donald Trump and Joe Biden delivering speeches at the border minutes apart—but, as usual, they all ignored the most potent bombshells…all but The Horn News, that is.
The two speeches couldn’t be more different, from beginning to end.
Donald Trump was surrounded by blue-collar folks, law enforcement, Border Patrol agents, and Texas National Guards members who shook his hand warmly.
Joe Biden held his event alongside liberal politicians—including DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and Democratic Rep. Vincente Gonzalez of Texas… and they were the ones Biden decided to praise.
“No one works harder for a safe or secure border than you,” Biden told the liberal politicians.
Really? What about the Texas National Guard, the Border Patrol, and local law enforcement? What about Gov. Greg Abbott, who’s had to pick up the pieces since Biden took office, stringing barbed wire along the border, only to have Biden cut it down in front of rushing cartels and their clientele?
Does Joe Biden honestly think Alejandro Mayorkas, who is facing impeachment over his refusal to secure the border, “works harder” than Border Patrol agents stringing barbed wire and chasing down human traffickers in the Texas summer sun?
That probably explains why the head of the Border Patrol’s union stood with President Trump.
“My agents, they’re mad as Hell” that Biden went to a little-trafficked area of Brownsville, Texas, instead of Eagle Pass, said Brandon Judd.
“They are pissed,” said Judd. “Border Patrol agents are upset that we cannot get the proper policy that is necessary to protect human life, to protect American citizens, to protect the people that are crossing the border illegally. We want to protect them, as well. And we can’t do that, because President Biden’s policies continue to invite people to” the United States.
“Thank goodness we have somebody who’s willing to run for president of the United States” and “serve the American people,” somebody like Donald Trump.
Besides Border Patrol, there are lots of people who have a stake in the Trump-Biden border showdown of 2024: The victims of something Trump called “Biden migrant crime.”
The most recent victim was Georgia nursing student Laken Riley; Trump revealed he had spoken with her parents earlier in the day.
Biden said nothing about her, and even ignored a question about Laken Riley—the Kate Steinle of 2024—on his way out of the event.
Unfortunately, she’s far from alone. “Last year, almost half of all ICE arrests were criminal aliens charged for more than 33,000 assaults, 3,000 robberies, 6,900 burglaries, 7,500 weapons crimes—this is all migrant crime—4,300 sex crimes, 1,600 kidnappings, and 1,700 homicides and murders,” Trump said.
“This is a Joe Biden invasion,” said Trump. “He has destroyed our country.”
Biden, Mayorkas, and company are “allowing thousands and thousands of people to come in from China, Iran, Yemen, the Congo, Syria, and a lot of other nations—many nations that are not friendly to us. He’s transported columns of fighting-aged men” who “look like warriors to me.”
Biden spent most of his speech fighting his own mental decline. He appeared to read the instructions off his teleprompter again. “They desperately need more resources—say it again—they desperately need more resources.” That’s right up there with the time Biden said out loud, “Repeat the line!”
When all is said and done, all Biden did was point the finger at Republicans for not passing an amnesty bill in 2021 and not passing a bill that spends tens of billions more to secure Ukraine and Israel’s borders than ours.
The Border Patrol agents, law enforcement officers, and asylum officers I met with today reiterated what we already know:
They desperately need more resources – more agents, judges, equipment – to secure our border.
We could answer that with our bipartisan border security deal. pic.twitter.com/3yE4ggf0Gr

Trump did so well, and Biden did so poorly, that the media’s reaction has been predictably insane.
“Trump echoes Nazi propaganda and pushes lie that ‘no one speaks languages’ of migrants in wild border speech,” The Independent claimed.
But Biden’s terrible performance raises the question: Why on earth was Biden here in the first place?
Joe Biden is making a belated tour of forgotten America. After more than a year, Biden visited East Palestine, Ohio, where federal agents told Norfolk Southern to blow up a derailed trainload of toxic chemicals in the middle of a highly Republican area—an area already devastated by decades of bipartisan Beltway economic, trade, immigration, drug, crime, family, and social policies backed by Biden his entire, miserable career.
This week, Biden also gave a speech on crime that said nothing of cash-free bail, lax enforcement, Soros-backed prosecutors, or the targeted murder of police officers. He acknowledged that “being in law enforcement is harder than ever,” without citing the reasons why—like the fact that illegal aliens killed three police officers in Washington, D.C., this week. Instead, he hyped “community policing,” and efforts to “get guns off the streets” and “ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.”
Biden is in cognitively decline, but he’s not stupid. He’s not going to make a mistake comparable to refusing to visit Michigan and Wisconsin, as Hillary Clinton did in 2016. But he’s not changing his policies to benefit those areas, either. He’s checking a box, pretending to care, and slinking away. He’s doubling down on disaster and eschewing accountability.
That’s why Biden made only his second trip to the border in his life.
During remarks at the border, Congressman Gonzalez said, “We hope this is the first of many visits to our regions, in this presidency and the next.” He’d better hope the next presidency is Donald Trump’s.
Otherwise, the only people visiting the border will be from Latin America, Iran, China, Yemen, and other points on the globe…and they won’t be there to serve Americans.
Neither is Joe Biden.
