President Joe Biden has seen some abysmal polls. One infamous survey from Siena College found him losing five out of six swing states. He was losing Nevada by 12 points… after winning it in 2020.
Still, Biden saw some silver linings in the same poll. For example, he’s continued the Democrats’ decade-long trend of making inroads with seniors.
Now, the Biden campaign has tapped First Lady Jill Biden for senior outreach… and she’s doing a laughable job.
To court the senior vote, the first lady is holding bingo nights and pickleball games.
While President Joe Biden attends a meeting with world leaders in Italy, the first lady will visit four battleground states. She will launch a program called “Seniors for Biden-Harris.”
Older adults vote more often than the average American. Plus, they comprise large swaths of the population in some crucial, battleground states. People over 65 comprise more than 18% percent of the population in Arizona, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania.
Jill Biden will go to Reno, Nevada; Phoenix, Arizona; Duluth, Minnesota; and Green Bay, Wisconsin. In addition to bingo nights and pickleball games, the first lady will also attend more traditional campaign events, like rallies and phone banks.
“Dr. Biden is both a trusted voice for seniors speaking to the issues that matter most to them and a galvanizing force to activate our supporters ahead of the election,” Joe Biden’s campaign manager Julia Chavez Rodriguez said.
Jill Biden has just finished a ten-day break from the campaign. She spent much of that time in a courthouse, where Hunter Biden was found guilty on three counts related to lying on an application to buy a firearm.
