Is Jeffrey Epstein alive and well in South Florida?
Was a body-double of the late billionaire pedophile spotted driving down the highway in the Sunshine State?
A Florida man who bears an uncanny resemblance to Epstein went viral this week after a fellow motorist filmed him cruising down Interstate 95 near Palm Beach in a convertible and posted the clip online — and the internet lost its mind.
The video, first posted last week and later picked up by the OnlyInFlorida Instagram account, shows a grey-haired man that looks like Epstein in sunglasses and a backward white cap behind the wheel. Within hours it had bounced across X, TikTok, and Instagram, racking up millions of views and touching off a wave of conspiracy theories that Epstein was somehow still alive.

The man in the video stepped forward Thursday to clear things up, and said he’s not Epstein: He’s “Palm Beach Pete.”
“My video went viral because some dude randomly filmed me while I was driving on I-95, unbeknownst to me. And the next thing I know, I’m a viral sensation,” he said. ”I had my phone down for about four hours and didn’t know my phone was blowing up with all these comments from that video. So, it got a lot of traction. It’s pretty crazy. Thanks.”
When asked who he was, Pete was direct.
“I’m not Jeffrey Epstein,” he said. “I’m Palm Beach Pete.”

Pete has since launched an Instagram account under the handle “not.epstein,” where a photo introducing himself drew some laughs.
“Sounds like something Epstein would say,” one user joked.
“So we still gotta keep a close eye on you for good measure yeah?” said another.
Epstein’s mysterious death was officially ruled a suicide by New York City’s medical examiner, but an independent expert said it was far more likely he was murdered.
He has since been the subject of numerous body-double conspiracy theories. A previous viral claims placing him alive in Tel Aviv — later debunked as AI-generated — and a hoax Fortnite account briefly convincing users he was gaming online.
The DOJ has been ordered to release files from the Epstein investigation under a law passed by Congress, but has not released all the documents and has made massive redactions beyond victim names, keeping public interest in his death high.
Palm Beach Pete seems to be enjoying the ride.
