President Donald Trump and Attorney General Jeff Sessions have had a rocky relationship in the past few days — but Sessions just took the first step towards healing their bonds and getting back on the same page.

“It’s kind of hurtful — but the President of the United States is a strong leader. He is determined to move this country in the direction he believes it needs to go to make us great again, ” Sessions said. “He has had a lot of criticisms, but he’s steadfastly determined to get his job done. He wants all of us to do our jobs, and that’s what I intend to do.”
Speaking from his trip in El Salvador, Sessions said that Trump has every right to find another attorney general — but hopes they can work through this rough patch.
“I serve at the pleasure of the president. I’ve understood that from the day I took the job,” Sessions said.
The liberal media has fueled speculation recently that Sessions would be fired or step down. Sessions, however, said he’ll continue to serve and work for the United States for as long as Trump wants him to.

Trump has been upset that the attorney general recused himself months ago from the investigation into interactions between Russian officials and the Trump campaign, and hasn’t yet prosecuted failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
Sessions acknowledges this hasn’t been the “best week” in his relationship with Trump. But he says he and Trump have a “harmony of values and beliefs.”
